MLK FAME COMMUNITY CENTER RULES: Smoking, Drugs, and Weapons (guns, knives, and other dangerous weapons) are not allowed on the premises at any time.
Building Hours: Republican Street entrance is considered the main entrance to the building. The hours are: Open 8:00am// Close 9:00 pmArrangements must be made for entry at all other times. Building will be open by pre-arranged reservation only after 6:00 p.m. All other outside doors must remain closed and locked at all times. You can exit the building via any outside door at any time.
Office hours: Monday thru Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm; closed 12:30pm-1:30pm
Parking: Parking is limited. Please note the parking signs when parking on Republican Street. The gate to the parking lot will be locked at 9:00PM, if you will be here later than 9:00PM, please move your car. Failure to do so could result in a delay getting your car.
Leased Rooms: Events held in a Leased Room are not allowed to serve Alcoholic Beverages without prior permission. A liquor license will be required and a deposit of $75.00 may be required. Permission must come from the Facility Manager or Director/Acting Director of the Center.
Heat: Electrical heaters may be used with the permission of the Facility Manager only. This is an old building and the modern heaters may cause circuits to malfunction.
Air Conditioning: The building is not air conditioned. The Boiler/heater will be turned on at 8:00am, and turned off at varying times during the day depending on the outside temperature and building occupancy. Also, when boiler is on please keep the windows closed. Opening the window could cause the boiler to malfunction.
Storage: Storage is limited to what is available in your room. Lockers You may use up to eight (8) lockers for storage. Food items, chemicals and banned substances are not permitted to be stored in the lockers. Please note, you may lock (you provide) your locker, however MLK FAME Community Center is not responsible for any lost or stolen item. Please meet with office manager for locker assignment(s).
Drinking Water: Please do not drink from the water fountains, or faucets. Drink only the supplied water from our water vendor. Computer Access: Internet access is available, but you must make arrangement to connect to service.
Television: Comcast is connected to the building. If you wish to have a television, please contact Comcast directly.
Auditorium and Gym: The auditorium and gym are available for tenant use without charge between the hours of 8:00AM - 5:00PM daily, however the time must be scheduled with the office as it is also available to the community during the same hours. Please note the time is flexible as the community has first priority.
Janitorial Services: Center is responsible for maintaining the halls, bathrooms and windows. Facilities Maintenance: Contact the Facilities Manager for all issues or concerns regarding safety and security of the building. Please direct any maintenance or repairs related the building to the Facilities manager.
Tenant Responsibility: Please notify the office know if you are having a special event. Parking can be an issue and we want to be careful to not schedule too many events at the same time.
Please Note: You are responsible for the safety and conduct of your clients and visitors.
Tenants will be given one key to the main door and a second key to their office. A fee of $15.00 will be charged for a replacement key.
You may use the Community Center’s address and telephone number as your contact number, our Office Manager will take your messages and inform you. Messages will also be put into your mailbox located in the office.
Please check your mailbox daily during office hours. Please ensure that the windows are locked and the lights are turned off when you exit from your office.
MLK FAME Community Center is not responsible for any lost or stolen item(s). If you leave the building after 9:00pm, please turn off the hall way lights, and lock the door to your office and to the building. Please empty your garbage cans daily. Separate waste garbage from recyclables. And dispose of in the appropriate outside containers.
